******************** First Announcement ********************** "Evolving Galaxies in Evolving Environments" Bologna, September 15 - 19, 2014 **************************************************************** Understanding how galaxies evolve in relation to their environment remains a major challenge for observational cosmology. Current and future galaxy surveys are attempting to address this problem through a global comparison of deep observations, detailed numerical simulations and theoretical models. The science topics of the conference will cover the recent progresses in determining the role of environment on the evolution of galaxy properties, and the physical processes shaping the galaxy and AGN populations residing in regions of different densities. The aim is to provide the present-day picture of this complex topic by means of the combination of observations, simulations, and theory, from low to high density environments and on different scales across cosmic time. The conference will be held in Bologna (Italy), home of the oldest university in the world, in the week between 15th and 19th of September 2014, and will include a free afternoon for excursions and visits. The audience is limited to 150 participants and the programme will include invited/contributed talks and poster sessions. We encourage young researchers and students to attend the meeting. Registrations will be open in April. Questions and comments should be sent to egee2014@oabo.inaf.it Please visit our preliminary webpage at http://egee2014.bo.astro.it/ More information will be added very soon. Conference Timeline: 1st circular: Beginning of March 2nd circular and opening of registrations: Mid April Deadline for abstract submissions: Early-Mid June Deadline for final registration and payment: Late July Conference: September 15-19, 2014 We look forward to meeting you in Bologna.
